Overall it was an adventure researching these weapons.  Given time and access to state militia or museum records, it may be possible to trace the history of any period firearm in more depth than I was able to with published material and the Internet.  If you have an original and want to do a quick search, e-mail us the information and a photo or two and we’ll see what we can find.
If you are a fan of historical firearms and happen to be in Northern California, make a stop at Target Masters in Milpitas and take a look at this great private collection.  The owner asked me to point out that they are not for sale, so don’t ask, but if you are lucky, he may let you handle them.
