After removing the old blue and before application of the bluing solution
After application of bluing and light finishing with steel wool
acceptable.  Next time, I’ll remove the grips and deal with them separately.

The last step was reassembly with a thin coating of grease on the internal parts and the quick wipe with gun oil on the exterior.  The light coating of oil improved the look of the bluing even more.  Overall, I was very pleased with the result.  If you are considering a makeover of any of your firearms, I’d suggest the products below.  If you have a makeover story, send it in and we’ll send you a Black Powder T-shirt.
